Full house

I'm not rerolling the d30, of course. But the two obvious choices are to use by d20 against his f8  or to use my d18 against one of his d20s. I'm pretty sure I know which one is better, but I confess my head aches trying to prove it, and I could easily be wrong. [Doesn't that mean I'm not pretty sure?]

Intuition tells me that rerolling your 20 is worth it but I agree the calculation is way too complicated. Seems to me that even if the 20 rerolls to something awful like a 19 you can still certainly at least get a shot at rerolling the 30.

Am I right that you can afford to lose all but the 30 and still win? I suppose that's a bit of an argument that I'm wrong, then, since capturing the bigger dice sooner is more likely to keep the 30 safe. And as long as the 30 is safe you can keep eating the small dice for a while and then hope to run the table with the 30 at the end.
