There are only 3 options to serious consider (there other options are clearly inferior)
- take an f(20) with the 6-sided die
- take an f(20) with the 10-sided die
- take the 12-sided die with the 20-sided die
Is it *obvious* which one is best? Is it close?

My gut says take an f20 with the 10-sider and hope it doesn't allow the other f20 to re-roll, 70% chance. Then the other f20 with the surviving small die, then clean up with the 20-sider. Everything else seems worse, without crunching any numbers.
that is what I did [and rolled a 2... and will lose the round if jeffboyardy ever finishes it] -- but I do wonder if it was correct. Note that if you take the 12 sided die with the 20-sided die you have an 85% chance of rolling higher than 3 [though admittedly you aren't likely to roll quite as high as 19...] heck you have a 17/20 * 18/20 = 76.5% chance of taking *both* the 12-sided die and one of the 20-sided dice this way and rolling safe from recapture and then you're practically home free.
I mean, I think using the 10-sided die is probably the overall best strategy, as even when you do allow a (20) sided die to reroll you still have about a 50% chance of surviving, but it's probably pretty close if you work it through completely.
